What to Expect
1. Experience Samurai Armor:
Dress in samurai armor and feel the strength of Japan’s warrior traditions.
2. Sword Cutting Challenge:
Use a real Japanese sword to cut through rolled tatami mats in an iconic historic setting.
3. Step into History:
Visit the grounds of Kikkawa Motoharu, the 16th-century warlord, and immerse yourself in the legacy of Japan’s feudal era.
4. Admire Japanese Sword Craftsmanship:
Appreciate the significance of the Japanese sword and learn about the local master swordsmith who preserves this rich tradition.
5. Soak in Scenic Beauty:
JPY 14,800 (per person)
Activity, insurance, and facility entrance (Sengoku no Niwa Historical Museum) costs, plus rental of traditional samurai undergarment.

Cancellation Policy:
7+ days in advance: No cancellation fee.
3-6 days in advance: 50% cancellation fee.
2 days or less in advance: 100% cancellation fee.
What to Wear:
Traditional samurai undergarment (rental
included) can be provided.

Participants must be 18 years or older.
Those under 18 are not permitted.
• Safety:
Japanese swords are extremely sharp. Please
follow the guide’s instructions for safe handling. The sword
will only be used to cut targets.

Upon arrival:
Our guide will meet you and take you to Sengoku No Niwa.
After the program:
You will be returned to the Chiyoda Interchange bus stop for your return journey.

Discover the story of Motoharu Kikkawa, the local feudal lord during the Wartime Era, and explore restored displays of his residence. Gain insight into the historical and cultural background of the location.
Suit Up in Samurai Armor & Take Commemorative Photos
Dress in traditional samurai armor and capture photos in front of the armor display of Kikkawa Motoharu. Then, in full attire, proceed to Sengoku no Niwa, the historic grounds. On the way, marvel at the original stone walls from the 1580s that still stand today.
Swordsmanship Training: Wooden Sword Practice
At Sengoku no Niwa, practice a traditional sword technique involving a cutting motion from top to bottom. This training helps you understand the precision and discipline of samurai swordsmanship.
Test Cutting with a Real Japanese Sword
Channel your focus and strength as you use a real katana to cut through a rolled tatami mat. This hands -on experience offers a unique connection to Japan's legendary sword culture.
Capture the Moment at Sengoku no Niwa
Conclude your journey by taking photos in the scenic and nature-rich Sengoku no Niwa while dressed as a samurai. Your guide will assist in capturing these memorable moments.
